Sabine Deconinck is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in hospitality and the event industry. She started her career at Sabena, where she  put her mark on the inflight development and made sure every traveller had an unforgettable experience. During that exciting time she traveled the world, gaining valuable insights and perspectives along the way. After a fulfilling career in the airline business, she took her expertise to several companies, such as Sodexo and Lunch Garden.

In 2010 Sabine joined the Royal ZOO Society Antwerp where she currently serves as the Operational Director of Event and Food Services. Her love for animals, nature and the planet aligns with the RZSA’s and  Elisabeth Center’s shared values. Thanks to her team player spirit and smart strategic decisions Sabine has made many realisations throughout the years.

She developed a concept for self-service restaurants that improved the quality, comfort and experience for the visitors. She drew and designed the operational flows and  the kitchens for the convention center. She designed 3 restaurants in Zoo Antwerp and carried out several remodelings in Zoo Planckendael. 

She put Elisabeth Catering, the top notch in-house catering of the Elisabeth Center on the map and makes sure every event has that five-star quality. As a skilled leader she strives to let her team shine and creates space for them to develop and showcase their skills.  

After twelve years, Sabine is still passionate about her work and looks forward to realising future projects.
